On Saturday, 23rd April
2016, we organize a scholarship seminar
at "KoCa Jugendclub" in Berlin
Friedrichshain, where we will report to
donors and other interested people about the
progress in our scholarship program.
Our annual meeting will take place on
Monday, 6th June 2016, in our official
headquarters at Schleusinger Str. 12. All
members of the forum, as well as friends and
interested guests are cordially invited. |

are here! For a donation of only 6 Euro this
time, we offer you A5 desk calendars with
beautiful motives from India. In addition,
every month comes with an Indian proverb.

Summer comes to an end and
autumn knocks at the door - a good
opportunity to present the Indian Forum and
its projects at the harvest festival in the
Alt-Marzahn village.
Supported by lovely weather and delicious
self-made chai, we introduced the visitors
to our activities. Meanwhile, the wheel of
fortune that we had brought along kept
turning without pause and brought joy
especially to the younger visitors.

We want to thank the
Potsdam-based
Café Zweitwohnsitz for their
generous donation of 410 Euro.
With the money we are able to provide
children from poor families in India with
education, and also support other projects.

In December our long standing colleague
Mukut
Bodra from Chaibasa arrived in Berlin. Within the framework
of the weltwärts project, he will spend an entire year here
and take part in different social, ecological and church
projects.
At the moment he takes a German course for several months.
Afterwards he will also be available for the Indian Forum
for talks, meetings and information events.

Since mid January we now
have Franziska Suckow, a second volunteer
from Germany
on site in Chaibasa, where she supports our
Indian staff and helpers as well as our
weltwärts volunteer for a few months.
Amongst other things, a drawing contest
has already been realized, which was
concluded by everyone sharing a huge cake,
which is shown in the photo.
In addition, regular English courses, home
visits and other activities are being held
regularly now. |

The photos, videos and various kinds of

accessible for everyone and do not require

With the help of Gossner Mission and
DIZ we managed to establish a
position in the German
weltwärts volunteer program for our work in Chaibasa.
Since September 2013 the first volunteer is
working there now for about 1 year.
Applications for 2014 can already be filed.

We celebrate
our 10th anniversary since foundation under the umbrella
of the Ecumenical Forum and the Mahatma Gandhi School
in Berlin Marzahn on 14th March 2003, and our 5th
anniversary since the creation of a registered, non-profit origanisation on 9th February 2008.
In addition, we congratulate the Ecumenical Forum Berlin
Marzahn e.V., our long-standing supporter and partner,
for by now already 30 years of charity
and community work. |

With support from
Indisches Forum 'Mahatma Gandhi' e.V.
and under participation of a delegation from
the German church district "Lichtenberg-Oberspree",
the young members of the Chaibasa parish met
for a youth seminar on 5th and 6th October
2012. The topic was "Role of Youth in Church
and Society".
Altogether about 40 young people from
Chaibasa and several representatives from
Ranchi took part in the seminar.
The Indian Forum provided support in
organisation and financing of the event,
which was praised as inspiring and
successful by all participants. |

The Indian Forum wants to say thank you to
everyone who voted for us in the NGO competition
"DiBaDu Und Dein Verein" from ING-diba.
Unfortunately we did not make it into the top
1000 and therefore did not earn the 1000 Euro,
but the great number of participants amazed us
nonetheless and 326 votes were clearly beyond
our expectations.
We also want to wish everyone a merry christmas
and a happy new year. |

On Saturday, the 14th of November 2009,
the second part of the seminar under the subject "Together for
a good climate - in India and in Germany" will
be held. From 9:00 to

India journey 2009 completed successfully |

After two-and-a-half weeks, the first official
delegation of the Tagore School returned home
today, on the 8th of November 2009. Two
teachers, five students and Heike on behalf of
the Indian Forum visited the partner schools in
Chaibasa as well as the other partner school of
the Tagore School in Shantiniketan. |
